ONM-ABO – March 18, 2025
In Habroo district, West Harargee Zone, East Oromia, the Prosperity Party (PP) militia has intensified its reign of terror, executing an innocent Oromo farmer in cold blood. On March 14, 2025, in Araddaa 32’s Hundee Dhaabaa village, PP forces gunned down Obbo Daawwee Huseen Adam, a father of three, under the flimsy pretext of “logistical work”, sources told ONM-ABO.
This extrajudicial killing is a direct violation of Ethiopia’s Constitution (FDRE) (1995), Article 15, which mandates due process, yet Abiy Ahmed’s regime operates with total impunity. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) (1993), Article 6, explicitly bans arbitrary executions, but PP’s blood-soaked enforcers mock the law with impunity.
Daawwee Huseen Adam had committed no crime, yet he was abducted and executed solely for being Oromo—a flagrant violation of Article 17 of Ethiopia’s Constitution and Article 16 of the Convention Against Torture (CAT) (1994), both of which forbid cruel and inhumane treatment. The Ethiopian Criminal Code (2004), Article 538, defines murder as a punishable offense, yet PP’s mercenaries operate above the law, trampling on Article 4 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) (1998), which safeguards the right to life.
Across West Harargee, the PP regime’s obsession with erasing the Oromo people has turned Oromia into a battlefield of oppression, with daily massacres targeting innocent civilians, leaving shattered families to grieve their loved ones.
The Oromo people condemn this escalating genocide, as Abiy Ahmed’s ruthless forces continue their campaign of ethnic cleansing with impunity.
