The Prosperity Party (PP) mafia forces are orchestrating a malicious campaign to tarnish the reputation of the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) across districts in Eastern Arsi region, residents told ONM-ABO.
Sources report that PP soldiers, disguising themselves with fake uniforms and claiming to be OLA members, are committing heinous crimes against innocent civilians to discredit the liberation struggle.
On April 26, 2025, the regime, notorious for staging false dramas, intensified its smear campaign in various areas, including:
- Amenya Malaxo village, Milla Sadi area;
- Suudee district, Akiya village, and Muloxa forest;
- Jedda Camma village of Gololcha district, particularly in Warguu and Dhiibuu areas.
Among the crimes being committed by these regime forces are:
- The rape of women,
- Forceful looting of farmers’ properties,
- Highway robbery, stealing money from civilians at gunpoint,
- Abductions and repression of entrepreneurs and business owners,
- Threatening young herders with knives while they guard livestock,
- Night raids on homes, dragging husbands away and coercing wives to prepare meals under duress.
Residents speaking to ONM-ABO condemned these barbaric acts and emphasized that the real OLA fighters have never targeted civilians but rather fight solely for the liberation of the Oromo people.3
