Tole District, Southwest Shaggar

The Prosperity Party (PP) regime continues its campaign of terror and brutality against civilians in Oromia. On May 12, 2025, heavily armed forces under the Abiy Ahmed administration committed multiple atrocities in Tole District of Southwest Shaggar, according to residents who spoke to ONM.
In Bantu Bodha village, soldiers murdered a local farmer named Mangistu Getacho and threw his body into a ditch. The 45-year-old father, known in his community as a peaceful man with no political affiliation, was simply on his way to his farmland when he was executed, locals report.
On the same day, in Dhukat village, soldiers burned down the home of Mr. Obsee Gudissa, destroying all of his belongings. In a separate incident in Aqooce Maram village, four livestock were stolen from Mr. Asinaqa Tamama, marking a pattern of coordinated looting and destruction by regime forces.
These acts are part of a wider military crackdown across Oromia, where the regime has intensified its campaign of extrajudicial killings, property destruction, and intimidation against unarmed civilians.
Residents say the actions of the regime amount to state terrorism, and are calling on the international community to condemn the PP’s escalating war crimes and human rights violations in the region.
