Reports emerging from West Shaggar, Jalduu District paint a grim picture of consistent detentions and robberies carried out by the Ethiopian empire army against civilians. According to our sources the regime has been unlawfully detaining and terrorizing civilians, subjecting the Oromo civilians to a life of misery. Innocent people are being falsely accused, labeled as Oromo Liberation Army sympathizers, and subsequently detained and robbed by the regime’s military.

One such incident occurred on April 27, 2024, in West Shaggar, Jawwee Bonii village, where the fascist military reportedly stole three animals belonging to one of the residents. Residents recounted to ONM that soldiers entered their homes without consent, harassing entire families. Additionally, the military captured three individuals from the village and transported them to the town where they subjected the victims to torture in prison without any evidence presented against them.

It is crucial to note that those victimized by the Ethiopian army are not involved in any political activities, as confirmed by residents. The regime’s actions not only violate human rights but also exacerbate the already challenging circumstances faced by civilians in the region. Urgent intervention is necessary to address these injustices and hold accountable those responsible for such egregious acts against innocent civilians.
