A teacher named Magarsaa Baqqalaa was arrested by the PP regime’s security forces on April 13, 2025, in the city of Finfinne, according to sources who spoke with Arraata Biyyoolessa Oromiyaa.
Despite having no political affiliations, Mr. Magarsaa has been repeatedly targeted and imprisoned solely due to his Oromo identity. Sources report that he is currently being held in a detention center and subjected to torture without any formal charges.
Further reports indicate a growing pattern of repression in Finfinne, where Oromo teachers—seen as the pillars of the community and the future of Oromia—are being hunted, arrested, and in some cases, tortured to death without justification.
