In West Shagar, Ambo County, an individual named Getusha Oli, along with his sister (whose name remains undisclosed), were reportedly arrested on May 1st, 2024. The arrests were made without any stated legal justification and are believed to be solely based on their Oromo nationality, according to information obtained by ONM.
This incident is part of a broader pattern of continued harassment that has prompted many residents to flee their villages in search of safer havens. Such actions by the Prosperity Party have led to a significant yet largely unacknowledged number of internally displaced persons within the Oromia.
