The Oromo Liberation Front – Oromo Liberation Army has officially declared an all-out military offensive named ‘Irbuu Shinniggaa’ across all zones of the Oromia nation.

Since May 28, 2024, the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) has intensified its newly launched offensive, catching the enemy off guard in every front. Initial operations have yielded results beyond expectations, with PP’s high-level officers and commanders being neutralized. Our sources within the enemy camp have confirmed the loss of two senior commanders during action in the central zone of Oromia.

Similarly, on May 29, 2024, the OLA launched strong action against the Prosperity Party soldiers in all zones. In a sustained heavy fight in the eastern Oromia zone, the Ethiopian army lost control of the Ethio-Djibouti rail road around the Gumbi Bordodde district in the West Hararghe Zone of Oromia.

The Prosperity Party government is reeling from the intensity of the fighting and is mobilizing new troops from both Oromia and Somali regional states. Despite the challenges, PP’s Deputy Chief of Staff General Ababaw Taddase attempted to boost the morale of government troops by emphasizing the OLA’s long-term vision and common leadership. However, his efforts fell short in raising the troops’ spirits.
