ONM-ABO 9 March, 2026
A young civilian has been killed by what witnesses describe as a group aligned with the Prosperity Party in Fantaallee district, East Shaggar region, in an incident that has sent shockwaves through the local community.
According to information received by ONM, the victim, Hussein Asaboot Muluu, was taken from a village detention facility around 5:00 pm on March 7, 2026, and fatally shot by armed individuals reportedly acting alongside local officials. Those who carried out the killing are said to have acted with a disregard for human life that sources describe as deeply disturbing.
Mr Muluu had allegedly been held for an extended period in a military camp on unfounded suspicions of affiliation with the Oromo Liberation Army. He was never formally charged or brought before any court.
This latest killing follows a pattern of violence in the area. Just weeks ago, ONM reported that three individuals were killed in the nearby village of Saraf Weba under similarly unexplained circumstances, with the Prosperity Party’s local apparatus again implicated.
The repeated targeting of civilians in Fantaallee points to a worrying deterioration in security, not from external forces, but from those entrusted with maintaining order. Communities are being left to grieve while those responsible continue to operate without accountability.

This is very sham of Ethiopian government
