An Urgent Statement From Oromo Students in All Ethiopian Higher Education Institutions.

There will be no peace in our country Oromia until the survival of our citizens is fully guaranteed.
Over the past four years, Oromia has been hosting horrific killings, destruction of property and genocide. We have lost lots of our people lives in this. Furthermore, the Empire has sponsored additional forces (drones), forces trying to restore the old regime (Fanno, Militia and Amhara Special Forces) against our people and is committing horrific acts throughout Oromia, further exacerbating the torture of our people.
The protests that started in the Dirre Dhawa, Adama, Finfinne, Ambo, Nekemte, Gimbili, Mattu,… and other Universities will continue to intensify and spread to all universities and higher institutions in Oromia.
To continue this protest, Oromo students in various higher educational institutions have passed the following resolutions.
- The killing of the Oromo people by the Prosperity Party’s Government and Amhara forces must be stopped.
- The genocidal actions by air and ground forces against the Oromo must stop.
- Since it is impossible to study in peace while our citizens and families are dying, the issue of our citizens should get serious attention than education.
- The invasion of land in Oromia must be stopped stop immediately.
- The others regional state armed forces deployed in Oromia by assisting the Government should immediately withdraw, and the demands of the Oromo should get due attentions.
- The Oromo Liberation Army (OLF/A) is the guarantor of the Oromo nation, but not bandits.
- Central power belongs to the Political Party, not to the people.
- The political game stemming from 4-killo palace to divide Oromo peoples, should be stopped.
These overall situations actually reflect the problems being experienced by our people, and we strongly urge all Oromo people inside and abroad to help each other and stand with us to fight this genocide targeted our nation.
The manner of this protest will continues based on the realities of the universities.
