* Conducted operations in Hidhabuu Abootee, North Shewa Zone
Results:
A significant cache of weapons, including heavy machine guns, was captured. Dozens of regime soldiers surrendered during these attacks.
4. Regime’s Division of its Shene Fighters:
Abiy Ahmed and Shimelis Abdisa have divided their “Shene fighters” into three groups:
1. Retraining: Some are undergoing training for reassignment for an undisclosed purpose.
2. Redeployment: Others fighters are redeployed to combat OLA or commit crimes as previously observed.
3. Prosecution for Crimes: True to their Machiavellian backstabbing of almost everybody that worked for them, they are also charging selected fighters with crimes, presumably as part of the so-called “transitional justice” process. Since they oversaw most of these crimes, evidence must be readily available.
