On May 9, 2025, in Warra Kuraa Suchi village, Ayira District of West Wollega Zone, Prosperity Party (PP) agents committed a grave human rights violation by arresting and torturing a 13-year-old child named Hundee Tasfaa.
Residents told ONM that the boy was detained simply because his brother is allegedly a member of the Oromo Liberation Army (OLA). Eyewitnesses report that the child has been subjected to physical beatings during the day and forced to sleep in the cold at night, acts which amount to inhumane and degrading treatment.
Locals described the incident to the Oromia National Media (Arraata Biyyoolessa Oromiyaa), condemning the agents’ heartless brutality and their continued use of torture against civilians.
The PP regime’s forces, who claim to be upholding law and order, continued perpetuating cruelty. Across multiple regions of Oromia, these forces are carrying out systematic arrests, lootings, house burnings, forced displacements, and extrajudicial killings, targeting Oromo youth and activists.
Residents are calling for immediate intervention and accountability for the perpetrators of this crime against humanity.
