Summary of Major Engagements: August 9–22, 2025

Between August 9 and 22, 2025, a series of military engagements unfolded across multiple fronts. The following are some of the noteworthy engagements:

1. August 9 – Borana (Gooroo Doollaa)
A fierce confrontation resulted in the neutralization of 52 regime soldiers and the wounding of 45 others. OLA forces confiscated a large cache of weapons.

2. August 10 – West and South West Shewa (Abuunaa Gindabarat, Tolee, and Bachoo Districts)
Two simultaneous battles delivered a blow to regime forces, leaving 131 soldiers dead and 88 wounded. Hundreds of AKM rifles, ammunition, and explosives were seized.

3. August 11 – Giddaa Ayyaanaa District (Giddaa Town)
In a raid on a prison facility, OLA forces neutralized all stationed security personnel and liberated 140 political prisoners. All weapons from the site were confiscated

4. August 15 and 17 – North Shewa (Sululta and Warra Jarsoo Districts)
On August 15, an ambush on two patrol vehicles resulted in 18 soldiers killed and 4 wounded. Two days later, a brief clash in Warra Jarsoo neutralized 5 soldiers and injured 7 more.

5. August 18 – South West Shewa (Daawoo) and East Hararghe (Carcar)
In Daawoo, OLA forces neutralized 59 soldiers, wounded 50, and captured 7 prisoners of war. Roughly 50 AKM rifles and significant ammunition were seized. On the same day in Carcar, East Hararghe, another 20 regime soldiers were killed and 10 were wounded.

6. August 19 – East Wollega (Sassaiggaa) and North Shewa (Sulultaa)
Two engagements resulted in a combined 33 soldiers killed and 37 wounded.

7. August 22 – North Shewa and West Arsi (Heeban) Two separate clashes on this day left 24 regime soldiers dead and 28 wounded.

Summary:
In the two weeks covered by this report, OLA executed offensives that resulted in:
– 375 regime soldiers killed
– 294 wounded
– 140 political prisoners freed
– Hundreds of weapons and large quantities of ammunition were seized, and
– Losses in multiple other smaller battles, clashes, and engagements.
