ONM-ABO – March 16, 2025
The Prosperity Party (PP) regime’s troops continued their brutal campaign against Oromo civilians, gunning down a young man and seriously wounding a young woman in Haru district, West Wallagga region.
On March 12, 2025, in Dildila Gelel, Aallebaantaa village, regime forces opened fire on unarmed civilians, killing Elias Tasfaayee instantly. Another young woman, Biraanuu Guuttata, was severely injured and is now fighting for her life, sources told ONM.
The victims were sitting under a tree to rest after a market visit in Haru town when PP soldiers, without provocation, targeted them in a senseless act of violence.
Regime’s Hypocrisy: Preaching Peace While Waging War
Despite its public declarations of “peace,” the PP-led government continues to deploy its military across Oromia, targeting innocent civilians without regard for human rights or the laws of war. The indiscriminate killings of young Oromos have become a hallmark of the Ethiopian regime’s oppressive rule, proving once again that its so-called peace efforts are nothing more than empty rhetoric.
The Oromia region remains under a de facto military occupation, where civilians face daily threats of execution, displacement, and systemic violence at the hands of the regime’s forces.
