The Soldiers rejected the Imperial regime’s barbaric act of damaging property, looting, imprisoning, and killings being inflicted on unarmed civilians. Thus, they decided to join the heroic Oromo Liberation Army.
On April 22, 2024, two members of the Ethiopian Imperial Defense Forces joined the heroic Oromo Liberation Army (OLA) operating in the area.
In terms of equipment, 160 rounds, 4 magazine’s of ammunition and 2 Turkish AKM rifles were removed from the regime camp and put in service to safeguard the interest of the Oromo liberation struggle.
The soldiers said they left after realizing the conspiracy and political pressure that the Prosperity regime exerted against the Oromo nation. The soldiers stated that their brothers who are currently serving the imperial army would soon realize the work of the enemy and join OLA to alleviate our people’s suffering in the hands of the imperial forces.
