Modern combat drones are engineered for surgical precision–capable of placing a strike within centimeters of a designated target. But under Abiy Ahmed, these machines don’t often find military assets. They somehow end up targeting farmers tending their land, livestock grazing in the fields, and families sleeping in their homes.
No regime in modern Ethiopian history has so brazenly, so directly, turned state violence against its own people as Abiy Ahmed. Time and again, he proves he is the enemy of the people. And of all Ethiopians, he reserves his cruelest contempt for the poor farmer.
Yesterday, that contempt landed again–in East Wollega, Giddaa Ayyaanaa district, at Dirree Guddaa. The aftermath is pictured below.
